Posting this 10 minutes early - GLP Sixpence in a little Peterson 31 for the lunt to the office through a freezing City of London. My route goes past the Tower of London and along the original Roman streets, so plenty to ponder while I walk.

Amphora Red Match in the very first pipe I ever bought ($2.95) in 1974; a smooth three quarter bend Dr. Grabow Omega. I smoked the original in this very same pipe for a few years back in the 1970s, and thought it ought to host the Match, too. The Match is fairly close to the original.

My first "serious" pipe. A Bari Wiking Freehand estate after a bowl of Dunhill's 965. It has beautiful grain though it needs a polish.

Glad to see so many others smoke 50/50 mixes. If I find a blend I don't like much I put it into a humidifier jar with a mix of Carter Hall, Prince Albert, Granger and then mix the lot with cigar leaf (usually from a Cuban Churchhill or Torpedo that is way to big to smoke, as in too wide to fit into my mouth comfortably). Leave it for a month after wetting down the humidifier stone in the lid and its a beautiful smoke. Maybe I should call it "Blend '67" (from my birth year), usually I'll smoke it in my Peterson system or my Danish / English / French pipes or even my old Americans and my Cobs.
Only problem I have with my cobs (purchased new) is the plastic stems that feel like they will crack if you clench them.
