Relaxing after a wonderful salad, chicken legs and sugar snap peas dinner with strawberries for dessert. I've a third of a bowl left of year 2025 STG/MacBaren Virginia Flake Cut in a 1980s White Pipe straight, smooth octagonal paneled billiard meerschaum with an acrylic yellow cream colored saddle stem. Mostly have this review written. Community Coffee, neat, is my drink.

Paul, you seem to have a nice stock of HU tobak that you keep referencing. I have purchased only one but want to grow that base when I have my next outbreak of TAD....

If I may ask, what HU blends have you tried which are your favs...?
My regulars are Director’s Cut, Louisiana Broken, Edward G, Makhuwa and Janneman Flake in that order.
I’ve also smoked a tin of Dark Moor,Khoisaan, Night Owl and Nyala although good for what they are they weren’t for me.
The winner for me is Director’s Cut but Edward G gives it a run and especially with some drying time.

Half way through this bowl of year 2020 D&R VIP in a 2004 smooth long shank Trever Talbot Ligne Bretagne Faite en Bretagne 4/3 lumberman with a tapered black vulcanite stem. Tomato the Brave came in to eat and he's hanging around the kitchen and my chair at times. I assume he's waiting for wet food, but it's not that time yet. Ice water and bergs is my drink.

You have good taste. I think my favorite is Aus Dem Krater Plug. Also love Director's Cut and Louisiana Broken. Although I am a Night Owl fan, along with Dockworker and Haymaker. There are a few others i like, but if there were only these i certainly wouldn't complain. Great list of goodies from a talented blender.

Last bowl of the night for me shall be Sansepolcro in an Ali cherrywood.

One of my favorite moments happened only just today. Got to smoke a couple pipes while drinking decaf coffee and Balvenie 12 year out on the Hilton Anatole’s smoking patio in Dallas with my wife. Started raining and was fortunate enough to see the stragglers from the pool sprinting back to the hotel hooting and hollering. One little girl, maybe five years old, shrieked “this is my favorite outfit!!”
It was a nice rain, one of those sweet, fragrant summertime rains that doesn’t really mean any harm. I feel like I must owe someone a debt for feeling this good. Both smokes were my own Red Virginia and Perique mix; first out of the first briar pipe I ever owned, the little Peterson junior lovat with the nickel band, and later the Pete emerald rusticated 106, a fine pipe in its own right, in my opinion. I’ve resolved to press this blend of mine into a cake, and age it for ten years or so. I think it might have some legs on it. Louis Prima is in my head, singing “Lucky-me lucky-me lucky-me… I’m in love.” IMG_6826.jpegIMG_6822.jpeg
