***What Are You Smoking, August 2025?***

Part way through this bowl of year 2024 Edward G. Robinson's Pipe Blend in a 2014 Basil Meadows smooth slight bend squashed tomato with an aluminum band and a black pearl acrylic stem in the military mount style. Ice water and bergs is my drink. Watching the Braves-Marlins game. Fed all the cats although none of them ate very much. After my last post last night, Tomato the Brave came over to lay on my feet. He scratched lightly and bit my foot gently. I looked down at him, and he gave me a big meow and happy smile. Then, he went to sleep. He stayed there until I got up to go to bed. When I did, he woke up, looked at me as if to say, "I don't recall giving you permission to take my pillows away from me." He spent the night inside, and after I woke up and fed him, he wanted out. Right now, Sleepy Suzy is by my side.

Attempting to mix hobbies, last night I had some Tashkent in my MM Legend, while using my telescope. I've tried it a few times: I like the notion of thoughtfully smoking a pipe while quietly observing the sky, but the reality is not as pleasant: each hobby distracts and detracts from the other. Relighting and tamping the pipe are a distraction, relights affect my night vision, and I'm sure that the nicotine does too; meanwhile, attention to the sky, telescope, and star atlas all distract from the pipe and enjoying the tobacco. The night was much more enjoyable after the pipe was finished, and I could concentrate on trying (unsuccessfully) to find a particular galaxy.

It was an interesting experiment, but not an enjoyable one. I've tried several times now, and won't be repeating it.

Everybody knows ya smoke after the achievement....... Not until the fat lady sings. I hope you find your galaxy buddy or discover something great. I think you got a pretty cool hobby.

Did a set of walking reps on this beautiful day, and smoked a bowl of year 2016 D&R Three Sails in a slight bent black pattern etched 1977 Lorenzo Lorsan Sigma level top billiard with a gray swirl acrylic saddle stem. Tomato the Brave kept coming up to me each time I got near the house for a head scratch. Harry the Hairy stood driveway guard. Daisy the Feral Princess body blocked the deck steps to make sure that I noticed her. They all got a little attention. It's time for lunch and coffee as I watch the ball game.

Enjoyed a tasty lunch, and am smoking year 2020 Watch City Rouxgaroux in a smooth medium bend 2021 Peterson POTY Natural 4AB No. 6/500 military mount with a silver cap and a tapered black vulcanite AB stem. Hawaiian Kona Extra Fancy Dark Roast, neat, is my drink. I opened the door to let Tomato the Brave and Harry the Hairy back in to eat when I discovered a baby mouse on the door mat. Dunno who left it, but I figure that Harry did, given his track record. Harry's playing with the catnip sock while Sleepy Suzy and Tomato question his sanity.
