A quarter of the way through this bowl of year 2018 Sutliff Dunhill Elizabethan Match in a straight smooth brown 1960s-70s BBB Own Make 506 Canadian with a sterling silver band and a tapered black vulcanite stem. Got a new lap top that's a serious pain to organize stuff, and click on them. So much has changed over the years that it's tough figuring it out even with the help of my tech friend.

I don't operate on a computer that's less than 7 years old and assiduously avoid new technology. I know I'm a Luddite anyways, and have never in any area of life bought the latest and greatest. My mind doesn't work that way. Heck, I still shoot film, use cast iron and natural gas stoves and incandescent light bulbs and burn wood in the winter. However, but am very okay with my digital cameras, the newest which dates from 2015. My sympathies in trying to figure this stuff out, even though in 6 months it'll be "outdated."

I operate on 3g Blackberry Passports, and will not upgrade. Nor will I purchase a product produced by a company that has a logo that's a "byte" out of an apple, and my cell has talk and text only and NEVER leaves the house. No online stuff at all. On computers I use Linux, mostly Debian, one online that's the oldest version of Ubuntu that works. It frustrates my friends and especially my sister, who texts and operates like a braindead teen. That's their problem. They contact me with my landline - only a few people have my cell number and all other contacts are blocked or left unanswered.

I'm quite tech savvy and can keep this stuff going. When I can't I won't and will disappear as best as I can when obvious future events materialize. Wish I was younger but it is what it is. Change is good, but not for its own sake. I'll go away now :ROFLMAO:

I took the day off and slept in and have done very little so far today, all part of enjoying the completion of another successful orbit.
The next step in my enjoyment of the day is of course a wonderful smoke with my little friends, in an awesome pipe-some C&D XXV Dawn in a Roush Poker.
Grateful every day…

Lol, well I just started with Cigars, so I've been exploring and absolutely loving it, I'm still getting some pipes in to though. I'm in between jobs right now so my cigar smoking is coming to a screeching halt unfortunately. I try to find Cigars priced kinda in the middle. I like the Padron 2000's. There about 8 bucks and for me, I only smoke maybe 2 or 3 cigars a week so I've been able to keep up so far. But I'm sure you'll be seeing nothing but pipes till I find some new work.
When one door closes, another opens, but sometimes you’ve gotta hang out in the hallway.
May your time in the hallway be brief my friend.

Enjoyed a tall stack of cinnamon raisin French toast, a regular size bowl of Raisin Bran with extra raisins throw in, and a golden delicious apple lunch. I've passed the first third of this bowl of year 2020 Watch City Rouxgaroux in a smooth medium bend 2021 Peterson POTY Natural 4AB No. 6/500 military mount with a silver cap and a tapered black vulcanite AB stem. Gold Star Hawaiian Kona Extra Fancy Dark Roast, neat, is my drink. Everything's nice and quiet so far.

Took me about a dozen posts to catch on the the meaning of "orbit." Can be surprisingly thick at times.

Happy Birthday!!! and may there be many more. 😃 👍👍

Jim, I always go through three phases with your posts....... First, I salivate at the description of the delicious meal or snack that you have just enjoyed. Next, I find myself laughing out loud at the antics of one of the cats. Then, finally I realize that "Oh yeah, there's a cool pipe and tobacco description there, too."

At the conclusion, I am hungry and leave the forum and go get something to eat. You "ain't" doing my waistline any favors............. :col:
Welcome to the dark side of dinner, Luke! :col:

My laptop was 15 years old, some of the keys stick (made it a serious pain to post smokes the last couple of years), my browser was out of date and I couldn't read a lot of websites any more. I got a big discount on this new laptop and had to do it.

As for being a Luddite, which I most certainly am, I could not have gotten this new laptop working without the help of my friend who did all of the work of getting me set up. I remain defiantly computer illiterate. And regarding telephones: I still use tin cans and strings when smoke signals fail. :)

Last Night's Smoke: and it was a good one. Brog Nosewarmer, and Smokers' Pride Whiskey, straight up.

I remember in my early days on the forum, when I'd just taken to the pipe (not that long ago! :ROFLMAO: ) in a post called something like Your Desert Island Tobacco, I said if I could have only one tobacco, what would it be, I replied "Smokers' Pride Whiskey."

If asked, I'd say exactly the same thing today. I could also live with Borkum Riff Dark Cavendish, or Amphora Rich if I couldn't get Whiskey.

And the pipe that I'd select would be none other than the pipe in the pic. It's fully broken in and absolutely dotes on SP Whiskey. Loves it. A medium bowl (just a little smaller than the Ropp J07, which is a tad deeper), I can sit back and relax for an easy hour and contemplate the workings of the universe, which is about my personal limit for this kind of thing before getting itchy. I've other fine pipes I like as much, including the Ropp, but not with this tobacco. I'm still incredulous that for a guy who really loves and cut his teeth on longstems, I would dote on this miniscule marvel.

Cheers and see you this evening. Last round of berries in the dryer, and apples will start either this evening or tomorrow.
