Thank you Bob!
How’s everything down y’all’s way with TS Erin? The Outer Banks up here are evacuating due to predicted surf.is it spawning anything on the Gulf side?
Raining here all day on the northern gulf coast. Don’t think it has much to do with Erin. High altitude wind shear and dry air are collapsing the western side of Erin. In northern hemisphere, winds circulate counterclockwise around tropical cyclones. If current trend holds, good news for east coast. Should help also mitigate storm surge.

QUES = if they do have to put him down, do they salvage the meat? Donate it anywhere? I've read that in Alaska, moose that have been hit on the road, if they can get to them when still "good", the meat is donated. I believe that here in MN, deer carcasses off the road are sent to a Wolf Sanctuary.
NOTE: I've had black bear meat once (grilled) & it was great. Twice, I've salvaged fresh roadkill deer after the State Highway Patrol wrote me legal possession paperwork ... I didn't hit the deer.
Yes, the meat is donated to families who want bear meat. They dont just serve it in soup kitchens or anything like that. :)

Haven't seen all catchup posts yet, but this is a real candidate for today's Kewpie Doll award! Beautiful and elegant! That's hardly slumming! :) :ROFLMAO:👍
Its the Troost Match that I was referring to. :)
The Celius is a great pipe.
When Axel Celius made these pipes back in the 1960, they were not very well regarded. He was up against some pretty big competition. He learned the craft from Sven Knudsen and Poul Rasmussen, and was competing with Preban Holm, Hans Nielson, WO Larsen, Soren, Karl Erik.....
This "Chess" line was his most popular, and least expensive line. The one I have is "Pawn", the lowest of the low.....preformed stem and all. But it was handmade at least.
At some point this one had its top chopped. All the "Chess" pipes had plateau rims. I was told by several codgers that many smokers hated plateau rims, so they would "top" the pipe to improve it.
I recieved this one from an old dude on the former Smokers Forums about 15 years ago. He bought this pipe in the 1970s with the top already chopped. It was one of his best smokers. Now its one of my best smokers. :)

Break in the drying/canning action, and just had a smoke break. Like Warren above, I just loaded my Brog Kaiser with Arango Balkan Supreme, the fodder that the mysterious Nathan managed to cross the border with. Local legend says he stuffed tires and false gas tank with the weed. I don't know, and I know too many Bee - essers to ever know for sure. But, I was given 3 ounces of this in exchange for double that of aros I didn't like, with another 3 ounces on the way from the same brigand who got the booty from Nathan, or whatever his name is.

This is a fantastic tobacco, at least to my tastes, and the Kaiser loves it too. As the pipe is now biased for Balkans, this will be a regular outdoor smoke for me. I'm a big fan of Balkans. Maybe what I like the best, this month anyways . . . . :ROFLMAO:

Had a pretty flavourful smoke, too. Pipes fully broken in and smoking good and cool. Not gonna be back to normal until the med crap is over with, but hey - this was the best smoke I've had since the whining festivities started and I'm quite grateful. Back to washing jars and picking over the last two loads of Saskatoons I'll be putting in my dryer tonight and tomorrow. Cheers.

Excellent, indeed. As is the '64. Padron is one of my all-time favorite cigar companies. 👍

Moving on to a bowl of Kendal No.7 in a Rad Davis, then off to drop a package in town and pick up some dinner.

So I also got a 1964 Anniversary Serie Natural Corona, and a Damaso #12. Gonna try one of them tomorrow maybe
