James Fox’ Bankers in a tiny Tom Eltang bamboo. Bankers consists of Orientals, Virginias and Latakia combined with dark and oily Cuban cigar wrapper leaf.

C&D Exclusive in a 1985 Dunhill 5103 Shell Billiard. This one arrived yesterday on a slow Boat from California but was well worth the wait. It had literally sat the last 40 years untouched and is completely flawless. I have been looking for the right LB or LBS for quite awhile but this one grabbed me. I worked on the stem for several hours to bring it back to black and shiny from sitting and now I’m just thrilled with it.

Enjoyed several smokes yesterday I didn’t get to post. Oh well…. Starting today off with Cornell and Diehl Haunted Bookshop in my #3 Savinelli 673KS Roma Lucite with coffee to pair. Enjoying time on my back deck.
Working on a bowl of Rattrays HotW I started last night. I live Virginias for the delayed gratification tho I don’t often smoke them that way. I’m too impatient. In a cob with coffee ️

and slowly build her up a little. Still on the LB/LBS hunt but this one should do me right too. Drafts well so far, large chamber dimensions and being a Group 5 stuffed with Exclusive it left me with a heavy nic hit and staggered gait.
This morning I am finishing a pouch of Velvet from between 1983-1986 and mixed it up with Bull Durham out of black label sack of unknown vintage(at least pre 1988 but likely a lot older)..interesting smoke- very mild,oldtimey...I enjoy those ancient tobaccos once in a while..pipe used is old Dr Plumb canadian
D&R Three Sails in a Vauen Oregon last night. I tried this bowl with a White Elephant 9mm charcoal filter and it took even more of the edge off than the Vauen 9mm; very nice tasting. The second half of this blend is always nice but the first can take some perseverance. This filter made it easy. I’ll try it again later today with the WE 6mm in a Roma.
Should post that in the grain chasing thread! From this angle it looks immaculate!
