Just got back from a friend's wedding in San Diego. Got to see my brother and a whole bunch of friends I haven't seen in awhile. I haven't surfed in a few years but I managed to catch one today!



So now I'm home and everyone is in bed I'm in the garage with a delightful Guinness and GH&Co Kendal Dark loaded in my Peterson Short bulldog feeling grateful.

I've passed the half way mark of this bowl of year 2014 E-soterica Tilbury in a smooth medium bend 1999 Peterson Sherlock Holmes Series Milverton with a sterling silver band and a black vulcanite p-lip stem. Sleepy Suzy started meowing loudly at me while she was by my side. I asked her what she wanted, thinking that she wanted more attention. She turned her head away from me and looked at the kitchen. I got up, so did she, and we went to the kitchen together, and she ate plenty of wet food. She came back to me after she finished, and meowed loudly. I knew she wanted me to pick her up and put her by my side, which I did. Suzy has a little arthritis in her back hip, so she doesn't like to jump or climb even though she can. So she gets her way every time. They don't make them any sweeter or more loving than Suzy.

Continuing review of the Heritage series from RMC. Robert McConnell’s Regent Street. I gotta say, I like it. Now, don’t get me wrong — it’s not GL Pease Telegraph Hill (which is my personal benchmark for Va/Per blends), but Regent Street holds its own just fine. Sure, McConnell markets it as a sort of nod to Dunhill’s old Elizabethan Mixture — but in my book, that’s more of a respectful tip of the hat than an actual recreation. The blend’s mostly dark Virginias with a pinch of Perique. It smokes smooth, burns evenly, and offers a well-behaved, restrained flavor: think subtle dried fruit, a bit of spice, and that gentle peppery tickle from the Perique — but nothing in-your-face. Honestly, it’s a solid everyday smoke. Perfect for slow, contemplative bowls — especially on warm days. Right out of the tin it’s a touch moist, but let it dry for 10–15 minutes and it opens up nicely. Pipe Pascucci P Rust-2137

Enjoyed a big and tasty golden delicious apple, and am a quarter of the way through this bowl of first production Watch City American Cut Plug Mixture in a smooth medium bend terracotta Peterson POY 2023 X160 464/1100 military mount egg with a silver cap and a tapered black vulcanite AB stem. Right after I posted my last smoke, Daisy the Feral Princess started banging at the door. When I got up to let her in, Sleepy Suzy jumped to the floor and went to lay near the couch for a snooze. Daisy ate, and then came over to me, jumped on my lap, and got a bit of attention. Then, she jumped down, and is snoozin' by my feet.

Now smoking year 2020 D&R Penhooker Silver in a straight smooth brown undated pre-Republic Peterson Shamrock 263 Canadian with a nickel band and a tapered black p-lip stem. I'll try to end the day with this smoke. Just let Tomato the Brave in to eat wet food. Harry the Hairy wanted in, and I'll do that after Tomato finishes his meal. Harry doesn't get wet food. I'm reading baseball box scores.

Smoking 5 Bros in a couple of pipes this morning. Pre ground Starbucks French Roast straight up. Earlier I took a Grabow Duke Rhodesian out for a walk and chatted up a neighbor out watering her English Bulldog Lola under the full moon.
Back inside, I start up with my daily perusal of internet insanities, the daily anagram, the chess puzzle, various youtube presenters on politics, the weather, and maybe some athletic results.
I used to read a newspaper.

Padron Natural 2000 this morning with black coffee. Enjoyed it on my porch with my parakeet Mango. Man I tell you what, I'm in love with this Cigar. It moves my soul when I smoke it. I got some ordered for next weekend, they have been the highlight of my week.
