Currently smoking Peter Heinrich’s special curly. Relaxing after a long hard day of doing two chores in the morning and then driving into town to smoke tobacco and drink cognac with an old friend. He is just getting into tobacco, both pipes and cigars, so I stopped at this little boutique cigar manufacturer and picked up a couple stubby 4x64 Connecticuts. Also brought several tobaccos from home to share and leave samples with him. I tried to select two of each blend type that I was bringing, one fresh and one aged. The pictured backpack is one of two that I took. Having been mostly attracted to aromatics up to this point, I shared Nightcap, Carolina Red Flake, C&D Opening Night, 2020 Escudo, current production PS Bullseye Flake, HH Bold Kentucky, HH Old Dark Fired, F&T Vintage flake, Black Point, Early Morning Pipe, Haunted Bookshop Cake, Nutty Irishman, Edisto, and some of this Special Curly with him. He liked the English blends best, but was shocked by the strong plum and sweets malted odor of the Escudo. I left samples of everything with him, but I left him jars full of nightcap and old dark fired, and some fresh escudo of his own to put away. He sampled each in a Missouri Meerschaum short stop, and had full bowls of a fair few of them.
