That blast is top notch!
For a pipe with a prefabricated stem and a so-so reputation when they were made, its pretty good.
The only way I can get a pipe cleaner in the stem is to use a Dills pipe cleaner, pushed through from the tenon end. :)
And at some point it was chop topped. All of Axel Celsius' chess series pipes had plateau rims.
But it tastes and smokes very good.
It has the softest feeling Vulcanite stem ive ever felt, but is tough as nails. It doesn't show any tooth marks after me clenching it for 15+ years.

My gosh, Gord, that is breathtakingly beautiful. Looks like something out of National Geographic....

Yup!! That's why I left Toronto, Vancouver, Victoria, and an offer in Boston. Fishing and hunting paradise. And 25 years ago, a good symphony orchestra to boot, where I won the Concertmaster job over a couple of dozen other auditionees. Never looked back!

Relaxing after a wonderful salad, cod and snow peas dinner with strawberries for dessert. I'm near the first third of this bowl of year 2022 Solani 633 in a straight smooth brown Algerian briar post-WW2-mid 50s family era Barling’s Make Ye Olde Wood Straight Grain Made in England bulldog with a diamond shape shank and black ebonite stem. This pipe came from the estate of David Cuneo. Community Coffee, neat, is my drink.
