We’re still drying out here in Milwaukee from Saturday/Sunday mornings storms tho this mornings storms did not help. I’m grateful that I only had a little bit of water in the basement that my dehumidifier handled. Many of my friends had flooded basements. If it holds up to scrutiny, a spot on the NW side of the city had 14.5” of rain in 24hrs which would set an all time record for Wisconsin, but most of the hardest hit areas had 9-11” of total rain. Still a hell of a lot of water.

in the two pics with my bikes where all the water is, that’s not where the river goes! All the grass that’s covered is picnic area for people to enjoy. The top pic is a log jam under one of the pedestrian bridges. All of the pedestrian bridges have been impacted in some way or anotger.

I should have taken more pics because it was just mindblowing what such a small river can turn into with the amount of rain we received.

Anyways this morning I’m having a bowl of Sherlock Holmes in a Brebbia ‘1960’ Nera Sabbiata bent bulldog with a cup of hot coffee. View attachment 410128
Yikes! We had a huge storm in western Wisconsin two weeks ago, not an unusual amount of rain but 45+ mph winds that took out huge trees in our forest and topped or damaged many more. Years of clean up ahead. Hope you're all doing ok!

Half way through this bowl of year 2024 Edward G. Robinson's Pipe Blend in a 2014 Basil Meadows smooth slight bend squashed tomato with an aluminum band and a black pearl acrylic stem in the military mount style. Fed all the cats. No walks today due to rain. Ice water and bergs is my drink.

Enjoyed a tasty lunch, and am almost a third of the way through this bowl of year 2020 Watch City Rouxgaroux in a smooth medium bend 2021 Peterson POTY Natural 4AB No. 6/500 military mount with a silver cap and a tapered black vulcanite AB stem. Gold Star Peruvian Macchu Picchu, neat, is my drink. After my last smoke before bedtime, Tomato the Brave went out after eating, and encountered Harry the Hairy near the door. They had a stare off until I broke it up. Tomato moved on, and I started to go inside, when he ran quickly after Harry, who jumped off the deck. After the ferals had lunch this afternoon, there was almost a repeat of that, but I stayed outside long enough to make sure that Harry came inside without conflict. Tomato didn't used to be this aggressive at all, but lately, he's stood up to Harry even when Harry doesn't do anything. Tomato can't tell when Harry wants to play or when he's being territorial, and apparently doesn't care. Maybe this will settle down in time. Daisy the Feral Princess generally just watches.
