GH Dark BirdsEye was the commute smoke this morning. Now I’m finally getting around to a smoke, last night’s storm made for a busy day.
C&D Derringer in the Kildare 53.

SB, I've been fascinated with the picture of the dust storm since you posted it last night. I did some research on them and found that the weather service calls them a "Haboob" which I found interesting.
My dad used to say that when he was a kid, back in the '30's, the dust storms blowing eastward from states like Oklahoma, etc. would send airborne dust that could be seen here in middle Tennessee. Of course, that was back in what they called the Dust Bowl era when all of the top soil was blown away. What a mess.

Earlier today, I dug out another old, antique meerschaum. I've been told that it may have been made back around the turn of the century, but I am not sure. Anyway, it has some interesting images carved around the bowl and is quite large. I had a nice English blend called, "Baker Street" which is from the Country Squire. I haven't smoked any in a while.

They can be crazy for sure.
As much as I love boobs, I abhor the relatively recent (past ten years or so) of American meteorologists using the term for domestic dust storms.
Traditionally (and back in the day, technically), “haboob” was the term for Saharan sand storms.
All haboobs are dust storms, but all dust storms are not haboobs.

Regardless. Home is over the hills, and my commute smoke of Dark Sails in the Briarlee Illustrious is almost done.

Probably gonna be a busy evening, mama’s gotta pack for an early morning flight I’ve got to drop her off for before work tomorrow.
Just me and the animals until Labor Day proper.

Relaxing after a wonderful salad, chicken legs and green beans dinner with strawberries for dessert. I'm smoking Legacy Collection: Brothers in Arms (Per Jensen) in a 1986 three quarter bend Bacchus face CAO meer with a tapered dark tortoise shell colored acrylic stem. Community Coffee, neat, is my drink. Earlier, Daisy the Feral Princess and Tomato the Brave wanted out after they ate. As they left, Harry the Hairy came in, snacked a little, and jumped on my lap for attention. He wanted out when I got up to start dinner.

A bunch of you guys have been talking about cooler weather, and we finally got a taste of it in Texas. A little breezy, perhaps, but much nicer this evening!!

Sampling Robert McConnell Pure Cuba (thanks to a generous member) in the simple homemade pipe (which seems to be getting better and better). This stuff is really, really nice, just by itself. Smooth, burning beautifully (albeit quickly), and a wonderful aroma! 😺 (@dottlejockey)

Hot tea -- Afternoon Darjeeling by Taylors of Harrogate. 🍵
