The last bowl of the day, 90/10 mix of C&D Red Va Ribbon and Granulated Perique in my Peterson St. Padraig’s Day 2025 sandblasted 53 lovat. I’m really excited for my morning bowl tomorrow, and then the bowl after that, as well; by the second bowl of tomorrow, well, I’ll have worked up a hankering for a third bowl, and then…

I like to make my own "Home Blended VaPers", also. Currently, I'm using McClelland Virginia Woods with C&D's Granulated Perique. I'm planning on a "red version", like you've done, but will use some McClelland '06 Christmas Cheer with either the Granulated Perique or some McClelland Blending Perique. I'll usually do around 20-25% Perique. I've also done "gold versions", using Mac Baren Virginia #1.
Of course, there's nothing wrong with the "store bought VaPers" either. Got some aged tins awaiting in the cellar.
NOTE: HAVE to add that I LOVE that Lovat ... actually, all Lovats (!!!).

Just finished smoking year 2014 Esoterica Tilbury in a straight smooth Danish gold straight grain undated W.O. Larsen Hand Made in Denmark dublin with a tapered black vulcanite stem. This pipe is from the estate of David Cuneo. Been playing with Tomato the Brave. He's worn down now, and laying by my feet. Watching the Nats-Mets game.

So, my little project is complete and today is the maiden smoke/voyage of my simple, diy hardwood pipe with bamboo stem. I stuffed some John Bull True English into it, and honestly it smoked well. I can't say it tasted spectacularly great, but not bad either. We'll see after a bunch more break in how things fare.

I'm not embarrassed to say I'm trying this new-fangled "limited edition" A&W Ice Cream Sundae soda. It's actually really, really good. Basically Chocolate Soda, simply put.

Cheers!

@Sobrbiker : Damn, Mediterranean Asada and a nice smoke in a Larry Roush. Sounds like a great birthday plan to me! Here's to many more...

Crashed hard this afternoon and slept till 7 when my wife came home and brought me dinner. A rare treat. The dinner, that is, although the nap was nice - i never nap. Working on one more for the night then it's lights out (again). Gotta make a run to Seattle in the morning.

Opening Night in a Bear's Den Briar commissioned snail.

Luciano (GL Pease/Di Piazza Design) Virgin Sandblast Chubby Dublin
My tin of Stanislaw Autumn Flake turned out to be produced by Dan Tobacco Manufacturing (DTM, Germany).
That explains why Samuel Gawith is no longer behind this blend:
- Originally, the Stanislaw Four Seasons line (Spring, Summer, Autumn, Winter) was created for Mostex, and some of the early runs were indeed manufactured at the Samuel Gawith factory in Kendal.
- Later, when SG became overloaded with production demands, the line was transferred to DTM.
- As a result, the current Autumn Flake (tins marked Dan Tobacco) is a German product, connected to SG only by the origin of the recipe.
As for the tobacco itself — neat dark-golden flakes, based on Virginias with natural sweetness and a light fruity note. It burns evenly, with a smooth, balanced taste: autumnal softness without any harsh edges. A mild everyday smoke, yet with enough character not to become boring. Personally, I find it very enjoyable.IMG_5289.jpeg
