Waking bowl was Haunted Bookshop in an Ali cherrywood meer.

After-breakfast-get-the-day-going smoke is now Dark Moor in the same Ali. Busy day. Gotta load up the planter box/pergola project and deliver/set up at my mom's. Also meeting with the septic guys out there, she said there was a leak in the line somewhere. Goodie. Also have to get in for some blood work and then bringing her back with me to take her up to the airport early tomorrow morning. It's go time...

Good morning! Solani 633 in the WDC Hesson Guard Zulu, with that wonderful dark elixir of life: "coffee."

That looks about the perfect morning pipe for about two cups of coffee and a bit of the morning news. Great little post, and yah, I'm coveting that pipe! Sweet! Ya need to take that white goop you put in the coffee out for the cat, though, lol, like Bob above! 🙃👍👍

Different kind of smoke this morning, and last evening. Actually the same smoke. Comes from taking out the underused Ropp R07, which has always been one of my favourites. But it was formerly dedicated to Orientals, abusing its nature as an all round, go to, workhorse.

So, last night I had two pretty much empty jars, one Smoker's Pride Dark with a bit of SWR mixed into it (good combo btw, especially as a chew), and the other the final dregs of a jar of Captain Black Cherry. So I parfaid them with the cherry on top. Topped off the evening about perfectly, but had half a bowl of the mix left. Too tired to finish it after loading the food dryer with berries. If I can't get 70 minutes out of the Ropp, I'm sucking too hard.

So I left the pipe on the table, and picked it up in the morning. Re lit the thing, not knowing what to expect. Lo and behold, I picked up right where I left off - same pipe, half bowl left, tasted just great. Never tried that before. And this pipe handles a half bowl better than any other pipe I own. Not surprised.

So I'm left feeling just great with the Ropp reassignment - already knew it was a great pipe, but was out of it's element as a specialist . . . . . . not only is it back into the workhorse mode that it thrives on, it's about to become one of my two or three go-to's for my backyard picnic table sorties.

Back to the final assault on saskatoons and cherries - apples in about four day, so looking for a fishing buddy now. Need a day off slaughtering finny stuff.
