Can You Believe It's August? (... a traditional saying every year, right?)
Now having seen Back-to-School ads since early to mid-July, everything seems to kick into high gear when August arrives. All the stuff & plans that lingered w/o getting done, now GOTTA get moving. County Fairs, State Fairs all coming up. Stayed light until nearly 10pm in June, now pitch dark by 9:15pm. Weather still hot, humid but that'll be changing --- NOTE: looking forward to those first chilly, even crisp nights. Farmer's Markets & Roadside Veggie stands will start flourishing. Trees still green but have seen (counted) 8 yellow leaves. And, of course, Football Season beginning, for those that follow. Another month (September) & kitchens will be fragrant with Baked Squash & Roast Pork w/apples & onions.

In solidarity with the calendar, felt it appropriate for first pipe of August to have my own Aro, something I put together 12 years ago, left it jarred for 10 years, now dip into it periodically --- and named it Autumn '12.

Enjoyed a tasty golden delicious apple, and am almost a third of the way through this bowl of year 2016 Peter Stokkebye Luxury Navy Flake in a straight smooth brown post-1964 Parker Super Bruyere 88/F group 3 bulldog with a tapered black vulcanite stem.

Now smoking year 2014 Edgeworth Ready Rubbed Match in a very much appreciated 1979 brown, slight bend grain etched flat front Stanwell Rego 969-48 (09) with a black vulcanite saddle stem. Fed all the ferals except for the absent Abner the Eager. Daisy the Feral Princess will be snoozin' on her blanket soon.

Half way through this bowl of year 2019 C&D Derringer in a late 1890s, early 1900s straight smooth brown unbranded billiard with an A&D silver cap and ferrule with a tapered amber stem and orific bit. Just fed Sleepy Suzy and Molly Danger. I brought Molly to the den this evening to lay on m'lap's lap, and she seemed more relaxed than last night. M'lady went to bed a while ago, but Molly has stayed in the den even with Daisy the Feral Princess laying on the sofa near her. She only hissed Daisy once. I put her plate on the chair where she has stayed this evening, and she's eating with no problems. These are encouraging signs for all concerned.

Enjoyed a tasty red delicious apple, and have about a quarter of a bowl left of Watch City American Cut Plug Mixture in a smooth medium bend terracotta Peterson POY 2023 X160 464/1100 military mount egg with a silver cap and a tapered black vulcanite AB stem. Molly's still in the den.
