Recently, I received a box of mature Comoy’s pipes - old Comoy’s are a favorite and @ashdigger apparently noticed and well, I was a bit speechless! I prepared two of them for today - the 1908 Cecil and the little Old Bruyere 168, circa 1920/1921. In researching what a No. 168 is, I found it has a nice history on here and was a restoration of @ssjones and so I really enjoyed reading about that on Reborn Pipes (a favorite site). Because I’m enjoying the reports from the Ohio show, I decided to start with the Cecil and some 2018 Carolina Red Flake obtained from @hoosierpipeguy - it is so mellow! Rewatched @Chasing Embers video posted above for some preparation reminders and setting about getting back into Virginias for a bit and taking a little break from some of the rum, maple, sweet aromatics I’ve been into lately. Sun is out after a rain, will be grilling soon and reflecting on how much I enjoy these forums - will be paying forward again come holiday season!!!C107FC95-C52A-470A-A116-2D6AC354F4B3.jpeg

Double-header this p.m., C&D Mountain Camp (burley, Va, Oriental, Lat & per) in a Thompson Cigar house pipe, slightly bent freehand with plateau brim with tortoise shell stem, and SG Squadron Leader in a Caminetto Hawkbill that was the prize in a Forums limerick contest offered by bayareabriar. Just back from the produce farm stand on a mild and cloudy August afternoon.

Not far from finishing this bowl of year 2012 Rolando’s Own in a smooth straight early ‘60s Lane era “William Conrad” Charatan Executive Extra Large stretch apple with diagonal channel cuts on the lower right and left of the bowl along with a black vulcanite double comfort saddle stem.

Did a second set of walking reps, and smoked a bowl of 7-20-4 Queen City (Briary Blends) in a 1980s White Pipe straight, smooth octagonal paneled billiard meerschaum with an acrylic yellow cream colored saddle stem. Putting the finishing touches on this review.

Enjoyed a late, but tasty lunch, and am a quarter of the way through this bowl of Mac Baren Presbyterian Reformulation in a medium bend fumed tan crackled year 2020 Ahmet Govem reverse calabash meerschaum with a military mount silver band and black acrylic stem. Working on a review of this blend.
