Thanks
I bought this pipe from Steve Laug of Reborn Pipes. You can read about it here’re if you like - GBD Tahiti Pipes – rebornpipes - https://rebornpipes.com/tag/gbd-tahiti-pipes/

I like this pipe because 1) it’s a G B D
2) its an uncommon GBD 3) it makes me feel likeI’m at a tiki bar
Steve is an all round great guy. He has kindly refurbished a couple of my oldies.

I just bought a pipe from him today - a Stanwell shape 35(02) designed by Anne Julie.
It's a Polonius lookalike. Given the she and Gert Holbek were longtime friends, I wonder who came up with that shape first, or whether it was a collaborative effort.

Enjoyed a tasty Jazz apple, and am half way through this bowl of C&D Derringer in a smooth brown-orange undated Mastro de Paya 3A L Tulip with a silver cap military mount and a acrylic yellow tapered stem. First time smoking this pipe. Having an excellent experience with it.

Funny you say that. I smoked the CB earlier, and now I’m having some 1-Q because they seemed similar and I wanted to compare. In this moment I feel like they are both appealing for the same reasons, but 1-Q is a bit more so. The Royal smells and tastes a bit sweeter to me. The 1-Q is an overall smoother smoke. Maybe I’ll flip the order next time to see if I feel the same. Btw Gold is the only other CB I’ve tried and I enjoy that too.
I think the main difference is Captain Black blends have a bunch of propylene glycol for shelf life. Most of the Captain Blacks have a Lane counterpart, but the bulk Lane blend is more "pure."

Hello good people.

Sometime ago, a colleague told me that he was going with his wife for some days to Copenhagen, Denmark. I asked him if he could visit The Danish Pipe Shop, and he accepted since they should stay not far from the spot.
So, he brought me a tin of Kong Frederik IX's mixture, which I have just opened and I am smoking it now in a (former) Polish Mr Brog pipe, heavily restored/transformed by a Greek carver.

May we all have a relaxing weekend.

I bought this Limited Edition last year with Samuel on it.

Gawith tabacs are amazing, if you ever get their way, please take some pics of the place to show us. :)

@PipeIT A fantastic tin - and none of the nasty health warnings! If that was me I'd save it to use for clay pipe storage!
I've got a tin of Larsen's Craftsman's Edition to smoked in my clay pipes; I'll save the tin for clay pipe storage when I've smoked it all.
I'm carrying on the tradition of smoking clay pipes with Gawith tobacco...
