Three quarters of the way through C&D's Shandygaff in an unfinished Jacono Dublin with an ever so slight oval shank. Even though it's hot out, cold brew didn't appeal to me so the usual unleaded pour over black coffee accompanies this bowl.

Last bowl of the day. Enjoying G&H Coniston Cut Plug in a late 19th century meerschaum 'cutty' by a well known Vienna turn of the century carver with an amber stem and silver reinforcing band expertly done by George Walker from Northern Briars about three years ago.

I'm about a third of the way through this bowl of Esoterica Dunbar in a smooth straight late ‘50s, early 1960s Lane era Charatan Selected 43 Dublin with a black vulcanite double comfort saddle stem. This pipe was formerly owned by actor William Conrad. Getting ready to watch an episode of The Untouchables.

Well, I was really excited about my new pipe that I decided to open a new to me blend. I reached in my queue drawer and pulled out a 4 year old tin of Savinelli 140 Anniversary Blend (one that I was particularly excited about) but much to my chagrin, the second I cracked the tin a nasty scent escaped from it... I knew it was riddled with mold before I even looked at the tobacco.



I honestly haven’t had too many issues with mold from C&D so I’m not disgruntled, it’s just a bummer but I know that SPC will make it right, I’ve been a customer of theirs for 11 years now.

Anyway, I chose to stick with a tried and true blend so I’m smoking Esoterica Dunbar from 2016 for my first smoke in my new Mario Grandi.
