Capstan Gold Ready Rubbed in a Macbaren Billiard.

Capstan Gold is a mixture of bright Virginia tobacco from three continents. If I remember my history correctly, this was originally blended by WD & HO Wills many years ago. This is currently manufactured and distributed globally by Macbaren. I do believe the rights to this brand name is/was owned by multiple companies around the world. I remember from my college days in India back in 1998 it was sold as WD & HO Wills Gold Flake Pipe Tobacco. In fact in India there is still a cigarette brand sold as WD & HO Wills Gold Flake by ITC, although the pipe tobacco has disappeared.

I would say that this is a quintessential bright Va Blend, as it has been in continuous production for many years, and blending rights owned by multiple companies in different markets. Personally I find it an excellent bright Va blend and would recommend.

Nice! I personally found a it a little boring compared to some other bright VA blends.

First pipe of August is SG FVF in a Rossi 8673. Fishing with the family earlier. We didn't catch anything, but my father did gift me his father's old fishing pole.

Close to finishing this bowl of Edward G. Robinson's Pipe Blend in a 2014 Basil Meadows smooth slight bend squashed tomato with an aluminum band and a black pearl acrylic stem in the military mount style.

Half way through this bowl of Ken Byron Ventures Jupiter Slices in a post WW2 Pre-Republic Peterson Dublin straight smooth X155 Bulldog with a sterling silver band and a black vulcanite p-lip stem. Looks like rain is in the forcast.
