Now smoking the last of my open stash of Watch City Flake #558 in a smooth straight early ‘60s Lane era “William Conrad” Charatan Executive Extra Large stretch apple with diagonal channel cuts on the lower right and left of the bowl along with a black vulcanite double comfort stem. Watching Gunsmoke starring the "other" Matt Dillon. Conrad was better in the role on radio. Hot and very humid here.

First post since joining.
Long time on and off pipe smoker...(started in college, and now age 70). ON, when single. Off, when married. Funny how that works. :crying:
About 5 years ago, I got to the ON stage again, and decided to make a concerted effort to find a replacement for the long-discontinued Edgeworth Cavendish Gold. Have tried a bunch of stuff, but a couple of months ago, finally latched onto some Lane 1-Q and BCA which I mix 75/25 (approx). Lots of nutty carmel comes through, and the vanilla recedes to a more toasted marshmallow aroma. But, the combo seems to bring out more tobacco flavor than either alone, also. It ain't ECG, but it'll do...quite nicely, thanks. I took advantage of the recent 1-Q sale at P&C, and bought a pound of each.
Is now my everyday choice, usually in a cob. Russ' Old Glory is always in the hunt, too, but the 1-Q/BCA mixie is my go-to! Morning, noon, or night! :puffpipe:

Having a bowl of Elizabethan in a 320KS. Iced Green tea to drink. Picked up a Pre Republic Peterson 120 today (unsmoked) and will probably stay that way. It's fun to look at though.
