Drying out some bacci pre-smoke for the first time. Let's see if I tell a difference. Drying out some Blue Ribbons to smoke in my Dr. G Freehand. The pipe is starting to get lil cake now for I've been kinda neglecting it in favor of the smaller bowl size of my more regularly smoked MM Cob Diplomat.
I'll smoking while drinking some New Belgium Rampant which is an Imperial IPA. I hope the pairing works out!
FYI andystewart I liked the Stanwell Duke 151 bulldog pic you posted the other day, fine pipe. I look forward to purchasing a bulldog style pipe for my next upgrade to $100 - $150 for they attract me. I currently smoke two bent pipes a Dr. G and MM Cob as mentioned so the straight looks more appealing. I've looked at the Peterson and Stanwell variety. Which do you prefer if you have something to compare to?
Thanks in advance for your time.

Chelsea Morning in a classically sharp, straight, smooth French Stroller. One of my favourite blends in a wonderful little pipe.

Dear, JimInks.
Some distant day in the future I hope to smoke what you smoke how you smoke...

Do you really have 3,000 pipes? I'd be both gratified and mortified to see that many pipes in one mans home! Lol

Elduderino: I don't own 3,000 pipes. Newbroom was just having a little fun with me. I did know a guy some years past who owned around 1,500. I always wondered what happened to that collection when he passed. there were some very nice smokers in the collection.
Almost finished smoking MacBaren Plum Cake in a light brown 1979 rusticated medium bend Italian Sir Jeffrey Dublin sitter with a flared top and yellow stem.

Good fun JimInks but you are still admirable.
I just smoked a bowl for two hours! Is the Dr. G Freehand considered a large bowl? Anyhow it was a great session after letting the bacci dry for a chance. I received more "roasted" flavors, I think. My most enjoyable experience yet!
I've learned to give some dry time, tamper often yet very subtlety, and find that rhythm (cadence). I think I'm finding my stride!
Thank you all for your time.

Seattle Pipe Club Mississippi River in a Dunhill Bruyere 4103.
Apropos of the conversation above, the Chairman of The Pipe Club of London - Bernard Allotey - has over 3,000 pipes. The crazy thing is he doesn't have one space big enough for them so Bernard has them in drawers, cupboards, his shed...all over the joint. Great man though and God Bernard knows and loves his pipes!

Peterson's Summertime 2014 in a Peterson Rusticated 314 System Standard
My rusticated 314 is among my favorite pipes. So light and well balanced it just hangs in place by itself (or so it seems).
