A wild storm ripped through my area. No power at work or at home. Enjoying a bowl of B.Frogs Sabotage in my Boswell pipe. Smoking by latern tonight. I have water to sip but it sadly isn’t icy cold. Forgive the mess on my tobacco table.
Good luck with getting it restored quickly. I swear those type of smoke sessions by a lantern or during a storm seem to always be retained by memory for me. I recall all the Hurricane, Blizzard and Power Outage smokes over the decades vividly 🤷‍♂️

Well, I guess I should’ve used my pipe tool, or taken my gloves off at least before knocking the chunky dottle out of my beloved Ropp J07…

Ohhh ... ... but I'm thinking (with confidence) that you'll find a way to do a solid repair. Too good a pipe & a friend to end up in the firepit.

Hmmmmm . . . . Methinks Winnipeg ain't North. I've spent many a summer in Stony Mountain . . . . my Aunt and Uncle and family used to own the farm right across from the prison there. Handy. No crime in the area at all. However, cousin Stan and I did take a two week fishing trip to Thompson. I'd say, THAT's north, eh? I caught a fantastic 25 pound Jackfish (Northern Pike for those who don't know Canadian lingo) in Notigi Lake, and lots of others in the 10 - 15 pound range. Wonderful terrain, the Canadian Shield!!

Oh yeah - hopefully you and Saskatchewan will team up with Northern BC and Alberta in moving south. Sounds good to me :ROFLMAO: We'd make a fine team!
Lol, born and raised in Thompson, Mb. Served my time 22 years and got out. Hub of the north is pretty rough now without the miners looking after the town.

Now smoking year 2021 Erik Stokkebye 4th Generation Evening Flake in a straight smooth brown 1950s Comoy’s Tradition 305 apple military mount with a sterling silver cap and a tapered black vulcanite stem. Abner the Eager finally moved. He went to the kitchen to snack and drink some water. When he came back, he jumped on my lap, something he'd never do if another cat was in the chair. He must have really wanted to be me to do that. Sleepy Suzy didn't complain, which is also a first.

First smoke of D&R Penhooker Silver in a Missouri Pride cob that I modded by adding a dowel plug. I think this is going to become one of my favorite pipes.

I'd be interested in how you did this. Maybe wait until the WAYS in May. I've got 2 Prides, a straight & a bent. Both came with black stems. I like their "basic-ness". Some good YouTube videos on them, also.

It's a pretty easy project. I might do a quick how-to post for those interested.

Basically, I removed the wooden stem, drilled out the cob pith by hand with a half inch bit, and sanded out material until the dowel fit snugly. A bit of wood glue, inserted the dowel and let it dry before sawing off the excess dowel. Then I just sanded it smooth and reglued the stem with white glue.

Enjoyed a tasty golden delicious apple, and near the last quarter of this bowl of unreleased 2021 Sutliff VaPer in a mid-2000 decade Tom Eltang straight black sand blasted canted AJ Dublin with a cream and brown horn ferrule, and a tapered black acrylic stem. Been traffic copping feral feeding. Some minutes after he ate, Tomato the Brave started harassing and hissing at Daisy the Feral Princess. Daisy just stared at him like the goofball he is. I told Tomato to stop that, and he ran to the back door because he knew he was going out for misbehaving. Maybe playing with that catnip sock had something to do with his behavior. Abner the Eager is on top of chair, and watched it all. Sleepy Suzy is still by my side. Harry the Hairy was in, and he's out after eating. Molly Danger is in the bedroom snoozin' with m'lady. I'm watching the Dodgers-Marlins game. Ice water and bergs is my drink.

Same pipe and blend as last night. Doing a take two with the post, since I used my phone, or tried to, and with the small font didn’t notice I had about twenty absurd misspellings. A new to me Jobey Shellmore Extra XL sandblasted billiard with saddle stem, restored by @98now. Great smoker with wide open draw, smoking SPC Plum Pudding BBA.IMG_2227.jpeg

Bob’s fully freaked out that I hung a ball for him to play with, he keeps eyeballing it like it’s going to eat him while he’s eating😆
Ryback+P in the Ropp J11

@Sandblast-the snapped Ropp is already drilled out to 3/16 and some stainless tubing is on the way. Luckily there’s .5” on the bowl side, and .7” on the shank side so I was able to stop .1” from both chamber and mortise and have room for 1” of tubing. I’m gonna lose some airway width, but it’ll be better than smashing it to kindling (I hope).
