Probably pushing the envelope, but am returning to what was working for me as of late. Just had, this late morning and early afternoon, a return to what was working for me, a late morning smoke of
Capt Black Cherry Cavendish, in the below pictured
McQueen Miniature Barrel Rider, and an early afternoon cigar, a
Swisher's Sweet Grape. I'd say about 65-70% return of the tastebuds, which was hindered by a bit of tongue bite caused by forcing things yesterday. Patience is not my middle name. All before eating, this time btw.
Some interesting (to a lot of you, I think, this time) things in
Skippable Drivel below the pipe picture.

Skippable Drivel: My usual procedure, after an initial sulk, is to get right back to business as usual. Always has been; we are all creatures of habit, I suspect. Pretty sure that if I was a trophy buck, I'd be taken out on opening day.
I began working on my indoor target pistol range, a quick snap below. A full and precise 10 yard Sanctioned Target setup, with two targets. Not shown yet is the swinging target, just below the two International mounted targets, for sustained practice at varied ranges (in my case from 7 - 33 feet), for Field Target position practice. The quick snap shows the mounting system. No, I am NOT going to put a shield up on the windows. If I miss at any of these ranges, I cotton-pickin' DESERVE to shell out the 200 bucks to replace a pellet throught the glass!!

I'll more likely just put a piece of masking tape over the hole, which ain't gonna happen anyway, as a reminder of hopefully left behind mediocrity.
Under the picture is a quick synopsis of my latest upcoming project, based on the seemingly successful experiment in growing my own. Check it out as I know some of you can help out here.
Made a major decision. I am not going to buy any more tobacco at all for a full year. I've got enough, even my "protected species", to last that long, and about three years with what I have in most other tobaccos. and my current plants have translated into very a smokeable product, so I'm holding pat. Should I live that long, eh?
Instead, I'm going to be growing my own and making my own pipe tobacco. Checked into legalities, and I've been given a lot of horsebleep by local "authorities". Have a friend who's got a greenhouse, and she'll be starting the 5 types of seeds I'm ordering, and I'll transfer the foot tall plants to pots for my growing system in my yard and then indoors at frost time. It's worked so far, and I'll be sending out my seed order tonight or tomorrow. 2 Types of Virginia, a Black Sea Balkan, a hybrid Burley, and a Turkish Oriental. (to be continued.) The Lord knows I need a project, eh?
PS - oh yeah, Michelle is a former piano student of mine, quite gorgeous, and I've got her interested in pipes and cigars. She should be joining our little group soon, and will add a most interesting mix to our evenings. Just a bit of manipulation here, eh?
