Who needs Old Dark Fired when you have Dark Plug.
Well, I'm now officially the 3rd longest living male on either side of the family, and I'll tie my cousin Wally next year on this same date as tied for 2nd. Yup, made it to 74 today. Celebrated my wakeup with my favourite small cigar, a Colt Whiskey, and after a few chores, I'll be gone most of the day - unwanted festivities and extravaganzas, as you'd expect)
Lot's to talk about in the following picture, my upcoming late morning or early evening puff, and I'll explain all of it in an upcoming late night post about my evening smoke in the eminently verbose and unnecessary "Skippable Drivel."
Well, since gord opened the topic ... (NOTE: Jim can be so thankful for us Pipe Forum brothers !).Great pipe, great story! I've never seen an Opossum in real life. Just in books, mostly storybooks with animation type drawing. And I like the photo - there he is, very clear but very visible.![]()
Now you ain't planning on roasting him with 'taters, are you??(Just kidding - I know you'd never even think of this. So I did it for you.

My friends Grandparents use to raise them in the backyard for a source of protein. I’ve never eaten one but I’m curious.Well, since gord opened the topic ... (NOTE: Jim can be so thankful for us Pipe Forum brothers !).
People also ask:
Is possum good meat to eat? Possums have been eaten by Native Americans and introduced to early European colonists in North America. They are considered a good source of protein. Possum meat is described as having a gamey flavor, and some find it comparable to chicken. The tenderness can vary depending on the age and sex of the possum, with younger or pre-breeding animals generally being more tender. Possum meat can be slow-cooked, roasted, or smoked, according to a New Zealand source. It's often served with barbecue sauce or other regional seasonings. In some Southern regions of the United States, possum meat is traditionally roasted with sweet potatoes.
