Stepped out to do some string trimming along the deck, and now, The Aperitif in the Imp Sitter with another glass of the venerable old red, which is 10 years older than my oldest son. Second glass still holding up!

p.s. Sam's Flake was a fantastic pairing with the cab. If it had been intentional, I would have called it inspired. :col:

Relaxing after a wonderful salad, haddock and sugar snap peas dinner with strawberries for dessert. I'm close to finishing this bowl of Briarworks Smokehouse in a 1986 three quarter bend Bacchus face CAO meer with a tapered dark tortoise shell colored acrylic stem. Not a hard blend to review. Community Coffee, neat, is my drink. I went outside and saw the possum again. It was slow in walking away from me, so it's not too afraid of me. It went inside one of the cat houses. This time I got a photo of it. At the same time, Tomato the Brave was chasing Harry the Hairy off the deck. He used to be very afraid of Harry, but not anymore. Harry came back, and Tomato was waiting for him. I let Harry in the house for the sake of peace. Harry appreciated that because after he ate, he jumped on my lap for a few minutes for attention.

Passing the quarter mark of this bowl of year 2017 Esoterica Dorchester in a straight smooth dark brown octagonal paneled mid-60s-early 70s Corporate Era Barling 4945 London England T.V.F. billiard with a square shank and black tapered square stem. This pipe is from the estate of David Cuneo.

It's my birthday! I took the day off cause I just needed it and while I expected to spend the day farting around and smoking pipes other plans happened. An excellent birthday though.

Anyhow I'm wrapping up my day with my old faithful blend, GLP Cumberland in a full bent Peterson. Finally seeing some warmer weather so I'll be breaking out and breaking in some new pipes.

Ranch chores, followed by a first-time try of Boswell's No-Bite Delite (sic) in a Savinelli Mattone 614 faux-Hungarian. It's true to its name, for sure--I feel like I could attach a vacuum hose to the bit and it'd still behave itself. 9/10

Bird report: White-crowned sparrow, California towhee, House finch, Steller's jay, California scrub-jay, American crow, Red-tailed hawk, Eurasian collared dove, Northern flicker, Oak titmouse, White-breasted nuthatch, Mountain chickadee, Hairy woodpecker, Western bluebird, and Spotted towhee. The Japanese beetles are beginning to emerge, and I'm delighted to see the crows, bluebirds, and scrub-jays all going to town on them. Also witnessed an incredible aerial dogfight between a crow and a red-tailed hawk. Primo stuff!

Broccoli cheddar soup and fresh baked bread on the docket for this evening...

@abecox Happy birthday! I'm right behind you on Thursday. 🥳
