This morning's smoke was yer basic
SWR in my non-dedicated
McQueen Miniature Barrel Rider.

Having a leftover
Phillies Grape cigar from the pack I brutalized with the coffee grinder from the Great Grape Pipe Tobacco Project, as I'm preparing this post, cuz it's range day Wednesday and I'll be gone for the day. Last indoor session before we move outdoors to test our guns on actual field targets at set ranges. Will be working on my Alpha especially, to see what its knockdown power is at the maximum pistol range in FT at 25 yards. But won't be ignoring my .22 Crosman with the newly arrived and installed red dot. This arm I know has the poop to topple the steel target at 25, but I still need to find a pellet that will go inside a 3/4" group at that range. Think I've found it.
Had an interesting day yesterday. Buddy Mike needed to pick up a few things and called me and see if I wanted to have a puff at Cottonwood Park in the afternoon, and take a few shots of the area.
Thought I'd show two. The first one is of the Nechako River at the park, at the cutbank viewpoint parking lot area. The Nechako is a great river, a major tributary of the Fraser River system, and the main channel across from the sandbars, is in the background. Holes up to 35 feet in depth hold huge sturgeon, and the runs hold the usual trout, squawfish and whitefish, in copious quantities. I don't fish it much, preferring smaller, more secluded streams, and lakes that abound in this wildlife paradise that I live in.
As you can see, Spring is springing. Willows are starting to bud, and the mosquitoes are not yet insectivoreial Luftwaffe. Had an identical shot without the dogwalker, but preferred this one. Cottonwood trees, as you can see, are not out yet. A couple of days of sun will do it. Still well below freezing at night, but it was about 40 - 45 degrees out at this time, about 1:30 pm.
The second shot is the usual vintage style bridge that every park in the known universe has. Smoked a couple of Colt
Whiskeys during the outing, Prefer cigars to pipes in this type of excursion, where I walk and move around as best as I'm able until this hernia thing is fixed.
