No smoke this morning as of yet, but will tell you in advance that I'll be lighting up the newest pipe in my rotation, my latest aquisition. the little
Peterson Dublin. a true medium bowl, after I get back from Palm Sunday Mass. I'll be loading it with
Borkum Riff Dark.
Finally got it broken in, with a series (in the following order) of aro-codgers (for lack of a better name because they are all flavoured tobaccos with some hint of something or other):
Smoker's Pride Whiskey Tobacco (my usual breaking in fodder)
Smoker's Pride Classic (vanilla undertone)
Sir Walter Raleigh (anise undertone), and
Borkum Riff Dark Cavendish (prune/plum undertone)
I went through this progression and went on to the next when I could taste the subtleties of the flavouring and especially the alleged nuttiness of the burleys in the blend, except the BR which is Viginia based.
These are all great tobaccos in their own right, and I love smoking them all, especially the Borkum Riff which I can suck up like a sponge, and I have a good amount of all four, so I think I'll stick to these fodders in this pipe and enjoy them all more often.
The pipe is such a sweet smoker that I'm going to indulge in these tobaccos several times a week!
