Had some friends from church over for guys night by the fire. I started with some of a mix I've been working on, 1/2 DFK & 1/2 Orlik Golden Sliced in my Moretti Devil Anse.

Moved from that to some Plum Pudding in the Ropp Stout Pot.

Finishing the evening now with some Plumcake in my Pete Sportsman 69.

Guys are headed home and I'm just relaxing by a dying fire with my son while we wait on the girls to get home.
Little man just told me he made $131.75 today with his hot chocolate / bacon biscuit stand at the yard sale this morning!! He's ELEVEN and paying his way to summer camp 🤯

Just finished smoking year 2012 Rolando’s Own in a smooth straight 1960s Lane era “William Conrad” Charatan Executive Extra Large stretch apple with diagonal channel cuts on the lower right and left of the bowl along with a black vulcanite double comfort saddle stem. M'lady and I watched an episode of Cannon.

Had a few smokes in the Ropps putzing around and running errands: Ryback, Odds and Ends, Kendal #7/Brown Twist.
Still practicing on the mini wood lathe, turned down a couple of pieces of mesquite and palo verde into blanks and put my new chuck on.IMG_4237.jpeg

Mama mentioned Blue Bell ice cream was on sale, so I kicked her out to fetch some Pralines and Cream.
Relaxing with some Kendal Plug in a pre-republic “made in England” 363 while I wait.
Life is good…

Almost a third of the way through this bowl of year 2015 Mac Baren Virginia #1 in a straight black 1925 Dunhill patent shell Canadian 33 with a tapered black vulcanite stem. This is one of the very few blends I should gotten a little more of since I dedicated a few pipes to it. Getting ready to watch a couple episodes of the 1960s Batman tv show. That and The Adventures of Superman were the main things that turned me on to becoming a cartoonist when I was five years old. I was very fortunate to have a conversation with Adam West so I could tell him how the show inspired me. He said nobody had ever told him that before. He said most of the people he inspired told him that they became either a policeman or a private detective.

Good on you, proud parent moment I can only imagine.

I mean this with/in the utmost positive/respectful way:

Charge him for the ingredients he used, (unless of course he paid for them) gotta learn about overhead and such at some point anyway. :ROFLMAO:
Very proud indeed!

He bought supplies from Sam's Club with his allowance to make it happen. He did it last year too and we helped him meet the goal as he was still a little short when funds were due. This year though, he's so close that he shouldn't need the assistance.

I still see myself tossing a $50 in his bag for souvenirs or snacks on the road trip when the time comes but, my dad would've done the same for me.

He's got chores on family land lined up for most of Spring to finish out the budget.
