A quarter of the way through this bowl of year 2014 Full Virginia Flake in a slight bend 1968 group 4S Dunhill Shell 475 cherrywood with a tapered black vulcanite stem. The rain stopped so the ferals wanted out. I brought Molly Danger to the den to be with m'lady. Sleepy Suzy is by my side. Ice water and bergs is my drink.

Still on my quest to find a new Balkan/English blend that delivers as well as some favorites no longer in production. I've three new blends so far. G.L. Pease Horizons was wonderful. G.L. Pease Abingdon is nice but it's not getting close to that "wow" factor. Still haven't tried Mac Baren HH Balkan Blend but will tomorrow. I'm once again setting the trusty Savinelli 320s aside (my go tos for these blend types) and trying Abingdon again in this medium-ish chambered Nording 15. 1000000740.jpg1000000739.jpg

Blackpoint is great. I am finishing a tin of Blackpoint from 2012, and it’s been a lovely journey with this stuff.
When it was available I really liked Dunhill’s London Mixture. If you can find it give it a try…..is there a reproduction of it out there?
My favorite current production English/Balkan blend is Arango Balkan Supreme. Smoking Pipes sells it in bulk for a good price.

Half and Half in my mellowing and coloring Marxman Chubby Lovat Big Boy.

What do the Gods smoke half so fine?

They color with or without wax or oil.

Heat drives something out towards the surface of the briar.

But coconut oil has calorie information on the bottle. That’s pure food grade. The “best used by” date on this bottle is February 2027.

I own at least one more huge Chubby Lovat, and it’s carved.

The 1st Baron of Inverchapel would be jealous.:)

Did a little low calorie snacking, and am not far from finishing this bowl of year 2020 H&H Chatham Manor in a straight black sandblasted, smooth dark brown top bowl 2021 Jim Brown stack Rhodesian with a tapered black vulcanite stem. Ice water and bergs is my drink. Cleaned the pipes that I smoked today. One estate pipe that I've been cleaning is finally clean. Two others haven't finished drying yet, but I am hopeful that they'll be clean, too. Another is getting its second salt and alcohol treatment. It'll likely need another one, too. Have another that mostly has the bowl reamed to wood. The ferals have been in and out a few times since my last post.

Enjoyed a tasty golden delicious apple, and am almost a third of the way through this bowl of year 2014 Edgeworth Ready Rubbed Match in a 1984 medium bend black grain etched Savinelli Non Pareil 9310 pokerish dublin with a horn ferrule and a black vulcanite flared stem. Reading baseball box scores.

Last smoke of the day is year 2020 Angler's Dream in a 2018 natural smooth medium bend Peterson 03 apple silver spigot military mount with a tapered black acrylic fish tail stem. Tomato the Brave jumped on the left arm of my chair, and got lots of scratching and rubbing. That boy purrs louder than he snores. The other ferals are outside. Never saw Abner the Eager, but he did stop by according to tracking. We were fifteen minutes late in realizing it, and I imagine he didn't stick around because the other ferals were around, and it is cold and rainy outside. That doesn't always bother him, but he is a shy fella and very timid fighter. Or maybe he didn't want to wait around because he wanted to get warmer sooner.
