Thirty four degrees and a bit of snow in the air. I'm not a huge fan of cold weather smoking, but decided to have a quick bowl of MacBaren Va#1 from 2024 in a MM Great Dane. I have jars of the same blend open from 2019 and 2015 too.
I'm not the greatest taster of all time, but there is a definite flavor difference between the 2024 and the 2015. The older stuff is visibly darker and more, um, tobaccoy. The 2019 is about the same as the 2015 sans the darker color. Science is hard!

Close to finishing this bowl of year 2015 D&R A.B. Rimboche in an undated slight bend, smooth flame grain Wessex Standard egg with a brown accent on the black vulcanite saddle stem. Been cleaning estate pipes, and a pipe with a thick bit like this works best as does an easy burning tobacco blend.

First taste of KBV Uzumaki in Falcon, brown bent stem with snifter bowl, celebrating a made-up holiday (not that one).

Whew! Something in this blend really tickles my palate, similar to Kendal #7 but stronger. I don't know whether I like that or not.

To steal from Gord:
Meaningless Drivel

Today is a bit of a holiday for me (if Hallmark can make up holidays, so can I): my 1-year anniversary of joining the forum. Why not celebrate pipe-related holidays?

I started off the day by going to the post office and picking up a package. Some of you will remember the user FalconForever, who recently posted that he was giving up smoking, and closed his account a few days ago. Well, last week he offered me his collection of Falcons and Falcon miscellany at a pretty reasonable price. I mentioned it to my wife, and she immediately said, "You're buying it, right?" My WIFE said this. One week later, it's here: 18 Falcons and a few extra bowls, Falcon accessories, advertisements and pamphlets, and more. I haven't had time to unpack properly yet, much less figure out how to display it, but I'll work on that.

This is also my Lifer post, which makes me have to ask what I'm doing with my life 😉 I've spent way more than I ever expected on pipes and tobacco, tried tobaccos I never would have tried otherwise, had too much fun with PMSS, met some of you on the IPSD video chat, and learned a ton from you guys, yet there's still far more to learn and smoke. Thank you all for the fellowship and friendship!

Congratulations

I'm with ya on the "lifer" thing too

Been nice "smoking" with you this past year. And I always enjoy your scenery, and often count my blessings that we don't get the snow quite so bad in the Cities :)
