Now smoking year 2020 Mac Baren Scottish Mixture in a straight, smooth brown 1960s Lane era Charatan Special 38 bulldog with a black vulcanite saddle stem. All the ferals are outside waiting to eat. I brought Abner the Eager in to eat first, and after he finishes, I'll traffic cop the feeding of the other three. And then get back to reading baseball box scores.

Had a quick bowl of H&H Black House in a Savinelli Bacco 321 rusticated author after the rain cleared up. The excess eggplant slices from my b-day dinner will be chopped up and used on a pizza tonight. The Italian pipe Italian food matchup is purely coincidence. 9/10

Bird report: House finch, Steller's jay, California towhee, White-crowned sparrow, California scrub-jay, Mountain chickadee, California quail, American crow, and Western bluebird.

Let's hope my Kings actually show up tonight... 🏒 🤞

Burley x 3 and perique in my MM Pride second from 2014 using a stem I got from Ed Shulte in Vero Beach for my Barling Apple that I never smoke because it revealed a crack in its shank.
The burleys consist of Green River Cavendish (Sutliff Black Cherry), Sutliff J-4, and Big 'n Burley. Sutliff or P&C, not sure which, blending perique in ribbon from. (Ed had shipped my pipe back to me in a bubble envelope with stem inserted. I suspect the shank got broken during handling.)WIN_20250428_05_26_26_Pro.jpg

I believe that's the same Pete i bought about 2 months ago. The stamped writing on mine is blurred and illegible and unfortunately I threw the box away. Now I know what it is!! A sweet pipe, for sure. Mine's become a favourite!
I think it's more like a souvenir. You need to have the skill to smoke from such small pipes. And not all tobacco is suitable for it (personal opinion).

From last night, a local buddy and I enjoyed a nice zoom call with @Servant King. Local buddy worked through some of the Boswell tobaccos he recently got in. I enjoyed some of the Boswell English Biscuit in my La Rocca and then pulled out the Peterson Shannon that I picked up from Servant King last October. Popped a tin of Peterson Flake (something he introduced me to with that pipe purchase) and enjoyed a fresh bowl of it.

A pleasant evening overall, good times were had with great conversation and pipe tobacco.
