We got a nice cold spell in Austin today, it’s really nice, it will probably be the last for a good 7 months. I’m going on my old man walk with two pipes. One St. Regis Pot filled with some 2012 Plum Pudding & the IMP is filled with 2015 Silver Flake.
The pipe is at that exciting state where it's showing it's first sign of patina, very cool to see. What brand of gin? I used to think I hated gin but I've found I really like some of the more complex brands, I'm fond of Drumshanbo Gunpowder and Sandstone Black.

Not far from finishing this bowl of Low Country Pipe & Cigar Natural Virginia & Burley in a 2020 straight black sandblasted Merchant Service “Bing” Standard with a nickel band and tapered black vulcanite stem.
fyi - anyone still up, take a look outside if you have clear night. Solar Flare (CME) hit earth today and we're still in it. Lots of Auroras. Sadly, very overcast where I'm at.

Just finished work, and this bowl of C&D Derringer in a straight smooth brown 1920s (Comoy’s) Lions Head 399 Canadian with a tapered black vulcanite stem.
Half way through this bowl of Sutliff Presbyterian in a straight dark brown and tan rusticated Peterson 2023 Saint Patrick’s Day Canadian with an Irish flag colored ferrule and tapered black acrylic stem. A snack follows this smoke.
Just had a tasty bowl of 2017 Dunhill Nightcap in the cob that is dedicated to English blends.
The wind had died down to almost nothing, but it wasn’t too chilly out. The smoke even went up a few times, rather than going straight horizontally as it usually does!
One thing I’ve noticed recently is that with English blends, I notice the Latakia a lot in the beginning, but less and less as the bowl proceeds, so I’m mostly tasting the Orientals and hints of the Virginias the rest of the way.

A third of a bowl left of year 2014 MacBaren Three Nuns in the first pipe Trever Talbot made when he went to France many years ago. It's a smooth straight Algerian briar Lumberman with a long shank and a black vulcanite saddle stem, unbranded.
