PS Cube Cut in my #1 cob. I filled it about 3/4 full of cubes, rubbed out a few to use as kindling on top, and then allowed it to dry a few hours before lighting, and had a really nice, tasty, well-behaved smoke. I'll definitely be doing it this way, or close to it, from now on.
There is a much longer story to it, but this pipe (the first cob I ever bought) had gotten really smelly as of late. Finally, after much sanding of old cake and application of alcohol, salt, pipe cleaners, and a shank brush, it is
almost as neutral as I think I can get it. I have enough other pipes to smoke that I don't
need this one to smoke well, but the fact that it resisted my first efforts really bothered me!
