Just finished a bowl of C&D Red Odessa in my old battered Jarl Billiard, the second pipe I ever bought in the PX at the Marine Corps Air station in Beaufort, SC. Still smokes wonderfully after 45+ years,the first few of which it was dragged around the world in a seabag. This tobac is very like SOTE flake.

Past investigations of this blend indicate a blend change sometime in the 1990s; prior formulations such as this did not contain latakia.

What a lovely and special smoke. Though it is in very short supply, I’ve treasured every bowl since I ran across it in 1997.
