Considering that it’s been doing nothing but lying around here since it was restored a few weeks ago, I thought it was about time for this pipe to start earning its keep. So, let the break-in begin with Carter Hall in a 1915-192(something) BBB Umbria that was tricksily gifted to me by a friend.
The copy of Victor Hugo’s
Les Misérables in the background was printed by the A.L. Burt Company of New York in 1919. So, these guys kind of grew up together. I think the pipe aged a little better though.
