I found while traveling to and from NC, that we always looked forward to getting within range of WNCW out of Spindale. So, we just downloaded the Simple Radio App and start our mornings off with their wonderful selections. Goes great with coffee and a pipe as the sun comes up.
Wow, a non-commercial public radio station!
(I just looked it up)

Old timey gospel, bluegrass, country, and sometimes they will host a mountain music stage, or focus on some esoteric Jimmy Hendrix. It’s not like regular NPR stuff. I rarely hear any news or anything on there. Really good stuff if you like mountain stuff.
Bluegrass is not my regular music I'm listening to, also I don't know much about it. But I'm facinated by the fingerpicking techniques of the guitarists like Billy Strings or Chet Atkins.

Here is a fingerstyle player who toured with Eric Clapton

We've got us a shack up in the scariest depths of the Blue Ridge, so remote you're not allowed in if you have all of your teeth, ha ha. But, a long while back we had Sam Bush sleep on our couch... nice guy. My wife plays a mean fiddle that scorches, and I am the sorriest excuse for a banjo picker that ever lived. But, when we go out thar, we call up the Lamar Lusfords, my wife's people, and they pull up like the Clampets with bass fiddles, jugs, and anything that makes noise. We all really suck, but it's lots of fun, and disturbs nobody except the bahrs and pocats.

Here's a nice Sunday morning song...

Colter Wall - Western Swing & Waltzes.

Snuck this earlier this month and just caught it. Colter has swung more to sparse, lyrical classic traditional Westerns since his break-though Imaginary Appalachia (which was more modern Western-Gothic). The cool kids may not like that direction, but I likes it just fine.
