Another jazzman I came across is a chap called Herb Ellis. His guitar playing is just gorgeous so I'll be seeking out more of his output.
It seems that most of the jazz greats of this period all played on each other's recordings as I keep coming upon the same names here & there.

A bit of the Cure before hitting the light.
Revisiting some music from when I was a young teenager growing up in the sticks. Music like this made me want to get the hell out of the woods as soon as I could and get into a city where I could get more access to punk and rock and roll. Close to 30 years later I still love life in the city and my folks will never understand
I had 3 double CDs arrive in the post today, all by Yusef Lateef. I'm only on the second disc of the first set and really enjoying it, he plays some weird and wonderful instruments according to the blurb, mostly Eastern in origin.
