I'm listening to compilation of Bluegrass that has Jim & Jess on it. Both guys have passed on by this time. This album contains "Paradise" on it. It's a John Prine song and they do it some real justice on this LP.

"Daddy, won't you take me down to Muehlenburg County
down by the Green River where Paradise lay
Sorry, My Son, you're too late in asking
Mr. Peabody's coal train done hauled it away"

My 10 yo grandson is currently interested in shipwrecks. The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald is new to him. I really enjoy it when our grandsons take an interest in something other than video games.

First time I heard this was back in the days of jim Jarmusch‘s „Stranger than Paradise“ best version of the song ever, besides the one and only Mark E. Smith‘s and the Fall:

Since Jim Jarmusch was mentioned (thanks UB 40) let's remember that except from director of so many fine films, he is also a musician, here's a song from his old band....

Nothing better than listening Carter and Ralph Stanley. Carter died is his early forties due to cirrhosis of the liver. This was a much better band with Carter than Ralph alone. But those are the Breaks.

The song Angel Band which played over the ending credits of "Oh, Brother Where Art Thou?" is just a masterpiece.

"Oh, come Angel Band, come and around me stand.
Oh, bear me away on your snow-white wings to my immortal home.
Oh, bear me away on your snow-white wings to my immortal home"!
