Miles Davis - Right Off, from Tribute To Jack Johnson (1971). Always found it interesting how Herbie Hancock happened to show up at Columbia Studios on unrelated business while this track was being recorded. I guess Miles REALLY wanted him to join in on this long-form jam in Bb major, so the studio techs hurriedly set up some kind of keyboard for him (sounds like a Farfisa), and in pops HH at the 15:02 mark like it was the most natural thing in the history of recorded music. Much more natural than, say, my freaking novel I just wrote! Sheesh...
