Although Mitch Ryder put this song on the charts in 1966, it was written some years before by Shorty Long and William "Mickey" Stevenson. Here's Long's rendition, which I like better than Ryder's:

Here's a favorite performer: Barbara "B3" Dennerlein playing "Jimmy's Walk" in honor of B3 virtuoso Jimmy Smith (1928 - 2005). Notice that she does NOT have a bass-player, but plays the bass line with her feet! What a phenomenally talented lady...
