Bill Clifton had a very unusual voice for those listening in him in the early fifties. No high tenor, no nasal twang, nothing that said bluegrass music to you. Surprising after I had listened to this record a number of times, I came to really appreciate it. His interpretation of "The Blue Ridge Mountain Blues" is one his songs that stood out to me.
