A lunch with a few mates at a local Malaysian restaurant - hawker stall favourites of loh bak, Hainan chicken rice, Chau Kwei Teow, KL Hokkien Mee, Hakka yam coins, etc

Then home for mooncakes, homemade durian ice cream and coffee

And a mini tasting of eau de vies and grappa -
Laurent Cazottes Reine Claude,

Iron City, my Dad's favorite, and my first sips of beer as a youngster. An acquired taste maybe. 🤣🤣🤣🤣

This post transported me back to 1988, when on a whim, a friend and I decided to drive from Rocky Mount , Va. to Three Rivers Stadium in Pittsburgh to see the Mets vs Pirates. We drove 6 hours in his 1979 Toyota Tercel Wagon with a carton of Marlboro Reds and a jar of Franklin County’s finest shine as our fuel. We arrived 30 minutes before the game and bought the cheapest tickets available at the box office. After climbing up to the nosebleed seats, I collapsed in my seat with the worst cotton mouth of my life. I see a vendor hawking Iron City Beer and flag him down and he proceeds to pour 12 ounces into a plastic cup. I eagerly grabbed it and took a big swallow of lukewarm $#*% and ……..I’ve never had a gag reflex hit me so quickly! To this day I can still taste that vile shit whenever I hear the name.

Just busting balls. My Papaw thought pig brains was the greatest thing ever. It’s whatever disgusting shit you grow up on and get used to.;)

Cheers!

If you get another itch, PNC Park is a great place to watch a ballgame regardless of your team affiliation. Iron City is still readily available, but easily avoidable. 🤣🤣

It’s already on our must do list. My son has been several times for Cubs series when he lived in Alexandria,VA. and raves about the Park and it’s beautiful views. I will bypass the Iron City, as I’m not quite ready for that wave of nostalgia to wash over me anytime soon.:ROFLMAO:
