We were supposed to visit our friends in Rhode Island last weekend, but things got rescheduled for this weekend. Having Compass Box Glasgow Blend. This is a nice budget whisky. It’s non-chill filtered, primarily aged in Oloroso Sherry-Seasoned Butts, American Oak Hogsheads, and Ex-Bourbon Barrels, 43% ABV. It’s a sweet, peaty, blend, and easy on the wallet. Yum.

I just got pointed to this one today at the store, but chose a Rye instead. But now that I see a 2nd recommendation, I'll have to grab one.

Has the recipe for draught Guinness changed ?

I had a draught Guinness while I was in Malaysia - watery and piss-weak. While it refreshed on a hot day, it was nothing like the Guinness I remembered - a pallid version, Guinness light.
This was at a Guinness branded pub.

I should have ordered a lager or pale ale instead.

A couple of days later I was at a friend’s place - a Guinness aficionado.
He opened a couple of bottles (bottled for NAAFI - the local version of The Army and Navy Stores)
This was the real deal - thick, mouth-filling creamy, bitter, hoppy, malty tones that I remembered from years past.
Faith restored.

7yr old Granddaughter is spending the weekend and was so proud of getting up early and making a pot of coffee for Grandma and Grandpa.

Instead of 50/50 on the Chicory I think she went 55 chicory and 80 coffee I was afraid to get a picture in case it was camera shy and wanted to kick my ass. I'm drinking it anyway and letting her know she did a good job because one sip and I was awake.
