What! Are You Drinking? - March 2021

Popped a bottle of my farmhouse style mead/metheglyn. Brewed with local raw honey, and mimosa tree flowers, bee balm, japanese shiso leaf, and red sumac berries from my garden. Fermented in stages with local wild yeasts, my house sour culture, and champagne finishing yeast.

Only drink when I'm grilling. That's why I like charcoal grill. More time to drink.

The beer on offer at the supermarket this week was Stella Artois. Can't say it's a favourite of mine however when the missus urged me to take more than just the one pack I gladly obeyed.

This hot summer just goes on and on.....32c today which is too bloody hot for this Scot. Good job I have plenty of cold Stella at hand.

Green Fin White. The only item preventing me from phasing out Trader Joe's. Cheap ($5/bottle), organic, and the white variety is great as an aperitif, and goes great with a fish dinner. The red one is equally good, especially with a nice eggplant parmesan.

Glen Fohdry American Oak. This is not a high end whisky by any means but it's a damned good Scotch for the $33/bottle I pay for it.

I wish........... 30-50 degrees and DAMP here in central Ohio........... March winds always blow and it feels much colder............ I'm ready for the 70-80's and some sunshine. That's cigar weather for me..........
