When the Sun shines in England, in June a Mans thoughts turn to Cider.Been drinking some of that real west country cider with no gas in it, it slips down far too easily.
At a cigar and whisky tasting event at Fort Hamilton in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn. I picked up my hand rolled cigars, but, brought my own sticks. Having an Hoyo de Monterrey Amistad Gold by AJ Fernandez with a pour of Booker's "Ronnie's Batch" Barrel Strength Bourbon.
Having No. 9 Iowa (a collaboration with the band, Slipknot).
So, I was going to get the Fort Hamilton Double Barrel, but, Alex, the distiller was holding back their flagship cask strength rye, with a historicaly accurate 200 year recipe, so I opted for that. He also gave us pours of the Double Barrel.
I haven't been impressed by their offerings in the past, but, I do like this rye.

New to me cocktail for summer. Muddle a lemon slice, 2 cucumber slices, 1part honey, 1 part water (heavy teaspoon), finish with a splash of club soda or lemon lime soda. Add Bourbon of your choice (mine was Balcones, Texas Pot Still). Add ice, shake, strain in ice filled glass.

The festival has been running for 30 odd years in the same venue so the Cof E are clear this is a good thing.
I was thinking of the ingenuity of the men who built the Cathedral whilst supping my ale.There were 330 different ales available over four days which I found amazing.
Probably, probably not. Maybe consider an enema instead?
