Finishing off the last of this bottle of Frapin Ch Fontpinot XO - one of my favourite cognac houses (along with Hine and Delamain)
The Ch Pontpinot is a bottling from their single vineyard - the largest in Grand Champagne - which surrounds the family home
For cognac fans, their basic VS offering is superb value - especially when purchased at mates rates from a friend who is the sole Aussie importer.
Such is the high standards at Frapin, this VS bottling actually exceeds the minimal age for a VSOP

Bought some years ago.
I think it was bottled in 2002
There is another Frapin XO (in a squat bottle) made from grapes from other parts of the Frapin estate. Raised in a different cellar, it has a much bigger body and more pronounced oak and rancio character.
I prefer the more elegant and aromatic nuances of the Ch Fontpinot
Frapin are the largest landowners in Grande Champagne, Cognac. Previously most of their production was sold to Remy Martin, before a family falling-out

You’re right - they now have newer labels throughout the range
I’m still going through bottles I bought some time ago
Looks like KBS by Founders. Not sure what variant of the barrel aged stout.
