A friend and I went to an upscale Scotch tasting last night. Tasted 14 quarter ounce samples of bottles ranging from $100 to $4800. We both found the 40 and 46 year old scotches to lack finish. They were good, but not that much better than most of the other bottles. I came home with a Glendronach 18 year old and a Glendronach Port wood.

Well that's a wrap for this year for me, I've handed over the reins to the staff for Christmas and new year and its time to kick back, invest in family, relax and take stock on what 2023 has been.

As I sit here penning this my drink is some Redbreast 12 years but I'd say there will be many many more delicious posts in this thread over the coming days.

Hit the beer distro earlier. Dude was doing a tasting and had food…bilyani? Rice and lamb With a yogurt sauce . I might be misspelling. His food was Indian so is he. Washed it down with a sample of Brooklyn chocolate stout, which actually paired nice. Now I’m drinking a Heady Topper. View attachment 272829
Haven't had Heady Topper in years -- amazing stuff.
