I prefer Laphroaig in a Scotch and Pussers Navy Grog in a Jamacan rum.

+1 for Lagavulin.
If it's spirits and smoking, I'll always gravitate to the single malt scotch.

Short answer, "Scotch" If you can afford single malts then that opens a can of worms. Smokey with lots of peat, look for Islay single malts. For softer single malts Jura comes to mind. Maybe Abelour cask strength or hell any Scotch with "Glen" in its name will work. For blended Scotch I reach for J&B. It was Dean Martin's go to if that tells you any thing.
If you like drinks on the sweet side pick up some Drambuie mix with J&B in a shaker w/ ice. It is called a "Rusty Nail" very smooth, dangerously smooth. I think if bourbon drinkers tried a Rusty Nail they would like it a lot.
Oh wait are you pouring the booze on tobacco to flavor it? Drambui might be good as it is sweet made with honey and scotch. I like tobacco flavored with rum most of the time. Never mixed it though I just buy blends with rum in them. You might try some Jim Beam or the even sweeter Jack for that matter to flavor tobacco with?

Personally I'm against the idea of "flavoring" tobacco. Adding good scotch to good tobacco lessens the both of them.
Drink your scotch, smoke your tobacco and be happy and well.

I use Laphroaig and leave the tobacco in a sealed box for about 3 months to mature, then i add 30-40% of latakia

Did you know you could buy Laphroaig at pharmacies during prohibition. Because it was said it tasted so strongly of medicinal flavors it MUST be intended for medicinal use. :D
I love the stuff but the wife says it gives me dragon breath.

Put Lagavulin on tobacco? At the price I pay for that lovely stuff? No way.

I keep a little spray bottle of Christian Brother's Brandy and give a few gentle spritzes to 3 or 4 bowls worth of 1Q. Then let it dry for an hour or so then stoke it up....

Mmmmmmm!
