Edgeworth Slices and a handful of McClelland va’s are the only ones I can think of that are no longer made that I wish I had tried. There are quite a few that are no longer in production that I wish I had bought more of. The only one currently available that I would like to try, but don’t have easy access to, is Condor. I don’t really want to pay massive shipping just to try it.....

When I started to smoke a pipe in the 70s, I couldn't afford to buy tins and take the chance I would not like the contents. Unlike today, there was no internet with reviews and information available, so I stuck with bulk blends that I could sniff or sample at the tobacconist. Occasionally I would try a tin of something and generally be disappointed. I started buying vintage tins to discover what I'd missed but the prices are frequently too high in proportion to their rarity. In other words, I still can't afford them!
That said, I wish I could have tried State Express, Marcovitch Black and White and the original Balkan Sobranie.

I've never tried a Daughters and Ryan blend! Thinking about trying Rimboche SJ and Ryback, though I was wondering if they were more about value.

No regrets. There is more available today, right now, than I will ever be able to try, so my interest in mourning the whole historical array of pipe tobacco blends is zero. If I can enjoy whatever I'm smoking at the time, that's the point.
Well put, I just occasionally think about all the chances I passed up. It helps justify my TAD for current gems.puffy

no they're pretty great and nothing cut corner about them. I'd love to see their business model to find out how they save us money or if the other guys are ripping us off a bit.

I'd love to try a lot of the old blends, especially Edgeworth Sliced and original Three Nuns. I totally missed the boat on McClelland, but except for some of the Oriental leaf that they found, I'm not that curious about those tobaccos. Certainly not enough to pay the going rate.
I loved Edgeworth Sliced but all that remains is drawer full of tins, alas empty but for pins, screw, tacks, etc.

So many I haven't tried. As of now the only regret is probably McClelland Orientals. I'm good with Christmas Cheer and 40th Anniversary and the Frogs. I have enough of those in the cellar. BUT I won't be paying for any of the Orientals left and just consider them gone at this point. But with HU, Kohlhase & Kopp, both Gawith's, a few Stokkebye bulks, GLP, and others... I'm too busy sampling and enjoying to worry too much.

I've only been at this 5 short months, so I've missed a lot, but also gotten to try some HTF things via a couple very generous folks. If anything, I would love to have tried some of the McClelland's Orientals. They're pretty highly regarded, I love mixtures where Orientals play a prominent role, but I'm late to the party. There are a lot of fantastic blends out there currently, so if I'm missing out on anything better than what's available now, I don't know that I could handle that level of bliss.
