Perhaps. But then you also might not want to smoke it after seeing all the grungy mouths it had been in.
I don't dwell on things of that nature. From forks to wives, life would be difficult if we thought of mostly the low points. I would prefer to think of the gentleman who smoked it rather than his dentition.

To expand on your point, perhaps it is best that we don't know the drunk abusive asswipe that owned the pipe before me. His family sent the whole lot to an online site to get rid of all memories after he passed. Nobody could be that bad, could they?

It got me to thinking, all our pipes we think of as ours. But in the end, if we take are of them, there may be a good chance that someone else, a stranger, is going to be smoking it down the road. Like all things in life, we never truly own anything.
I'm not going to pass my pipes down. I bought a coffin with side pockets so I can take them with me. puffy

Great story, thanks.

My Dad left me the pipe I always remembered him smoking. I wanted to put it to rest with him, but my Mom said she wanted me to smoke it and remember him when I do.

Almost 20 years and I still can't do it, but it is on display in my smoking room
