Hold the phone! It was proved pretty conclusively that ivory was not used in the pipes tested. What may have happened years or decades earlier than the test pieces is open to question. But the large majority (90%+?) of existing Dunhill white spots are not ivory.

My oldest is this 1922 shell

I know it's a tiny image, but then it's a tiny pipe. I think Alfred must have made it for one of his grandchildren.

My one and only Dunhill is from 1934. Got it for $37.00, and spent $90.00 having a stem made for it. It is a Shell Briar, and appears to be shape known as a chimney. The original stem had been way over buffed, resulting in a paper thin bit. While not the star of my collection, it smokes very well, and seems to enjoy McBaren Latakia Flake best.

I've never owned a Dunhill myself. For one I never could find a decent one at a decent price and for two I've just never really been a fan of the brand's pipes.
Figured the whole white spot debate would resurface. There's always someone that never takes Neal Caffrey's advice and thinks he's the smartest person in the room.

So what ( are we not entitled to like our Dunghills ) and who the .... is Neal Caffrey
Dunghills? Many people like Dunhills. I hear they're great smokers. Just not personally interested in them.
Neal Caffrey is a character from the show White Collar. It's on Netflix. It's kind of a t.v. version of Catch Me If You Can.

I have two, both '74 Shell Briars. The zulu is my knock around yard work/auto repair/fishing pipe, and the LB billiard is a bonsai pot.

Vegas Baby!!!
The level of butthurt because someone enjoys Dunhills is weird to me.
I don't like Savinelli pipes but I don't post smack about them in EVERY Savinelli thread.
So odd.

I do enjoy mine, I just don't consider them as being more than beaters and aromatic pipes.
